2. PRECEDING GOVERNMENTS

Let us take up the horoscopes of three short-lived preceding governments – Hatoyama (2009.09.16~2010.06.08), Kan (2010.06.08~2011.09.02), and Noda (2011.09.02~2012.10.01).

In September 2009, when Democratic Party of Japan rose to power for the first time and marked a “full stop” to the prolonged arrogant reign of LDP, that was phenomenal with the whole nation being involved and the most people certainly rejoiced. The whole nation was expecting that the nation for sure would change for the better.

But it did not take time for many to realize that DPJ was too incompetent and too immature to carry out their manifestoes. Instead they saw their nation not changing; or at any rate changing for the worse. It was during this period that Japan saw its northern part washed away by so-called 3.11 Tsunami, leaving as many as over 30,000 deaths. People soon started regretting their wrong decision made.

Hatoyama Cabinet

Mr. Yukio Hatoyama became the first prime minister of the three successive DPJ governments that preceded the present LDP-Abe government. His oath taking ceremony took place at 19:30 on 16th September 2009. His government was very unpopular and he had to step down as prime minister in about 9 months on 8th June 2010.

See Figures 2-1~2, the horoscope of Hatoyama Cabinet. These horoscopes have significance not only because they show the well-being of Hatoyama government, but also because they show how the DPJ government will be like as a whole.

The Moon is in its own house, but in the last pada of Ashlesha – gandanta. The Moon is dark as it was the 13th tithi of Krishna Paksha.

Notice also that the 8th lord Mars aspects both the 10th lord Saturn and the 10th house. In Navamsha, the 10th lord Mars is in the 9th house aspected by the 8th lord Saturn.

Kan Cabinet

Prime minister who succeeded Mr. Hatoyama was Naoto Kan who took his oath taking ceremony at 18:45 on 8th June 2010. Kan made a series of cataclysmic gaffes in dealing with 2011.03.11 Tsunami disaster. His government lasted for about 15 months.

The Rashi and Navamsha charts are shown in Figures 3-1~2.

Though being vargottama, the Moon is placed in the first pada of Ashwini—gandanta again.

The Moon is getting dark or weak as it is the 11th tithi of Krishna Paksha.
The 10th lord Sun is conjunct with the 8th lord Mercury in the 7th house.

Noda Reshuffled Cabinet

Mr. Yoshihiko Noda took over Mr. Kan and took his office as prime minister effective of 2nd September 2012. But the time when the oath taking ceremony took place is not known. So I take up the timing of his second cabinet after reshuffle. The new ministers had to go through the Imperial confirmation ceremony, which took place at 19:00 on 4th June 2012. His term lasted for 13 months.

See the horoscopes of Noda reshuffled cabinet in Figures 4-1~2.

The Moon is again weak in debilitation in Jyeshtha, though not in gandanta. Although Moon is associated with all the benefics, it is heavily afflicted by the conjunction with Rahu and by the aspect of Mars and Saturn.

Again the 10th lord Sun and the 8th lord Mercury are together in the 7th house under Ra/Ke. They are together as well in Navamsha.

Observations

In all the cases, 8-10 connection is repeated in their horoscopes. Each government has its own serious problems which put itself in a precarious situation. But what makes the present Abe government different from the other three unstable governments is the strength of the Moon. The Moon of Abe government is the Lagna Lord exalted in the 11th house with vargottama 9th lord Jupiter in association with all other benefics. On the other hand, the Moon of the other short-lived governments is invariably weak: either debilitated or in gandanta.
